Dr. Pereira joined the Optometry team at its very inception in 2015. She received both her undergraduate B.A. degree in Biology, as well as her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She speaks Spanish, Swahili, as well as beginning-level Hindi and Russian. Dr. Pereira offers extensive years of experience from a variety of clinical settings including private, corporate, and non-profit practices. For six years she directed the vision screening program for San Francisco’s public school children. She is great with kids. She is certified in the management and treatment of glaucoma and other ocular diseases. Dr. Pereira, herself an immigrant from Kenya, enjoys working with the diverse immigrant patient population of Bay Area Community Health Center. Her patients consistently describe her as kind, compassionate, and extremely caring.
