Tri-City Health Center offers one of the most comprehensive Ryan White HIV Services in Alameda County. Today, HIV is a chronic, manageable condition and TCHC provides the latest treatment and specialty care for people living with this disease.
Patients receive medication support, access to mental health care, and assistance with housing, food and other basic needs. Patients also receive application assistance for medication access programs, such as ADAP.
TCHC’s uses the OraQuick ADVANCE HIV test for anonymous and rapid HIV testing. After a quick mouth swab, results are ready in 20 minutes. If necessary, HIV can be tested along with STDs.
Get PrEP East Bay, at Tri-City Health Center, is a navigation program that helps HIV-negative men who have sex with men and Transgender men and women access pre-exposure Prophylaxis, a daily pill that helps prevent HIV transmission. TCHC’s PrEP navigation services help providers and patients connect on the correct treatment. Prevention and Education
All HIV prevention services are provided on a no-names basis, and include 1-on-1 risk reduction counseling, groups and community events. TCHC’s HIV Prevention and Education programs include:
- The Men Together Project, which serves men who have sex with men
- TransVision, which serves transgender women and men
- Project LOUD, which serves youth throughout Alameda County
- Generations Project, which provides services to injection and other drug users
