5k Walk For Wellness – September 14, 2019
Tri-City Health Center’s Walk for Wellness is a family-friendly event featuring a 5K walk in central Fremont. Booths and exhibitor tables for the 5K walk will be housed at Fremont’s Town Fair Plaza, an eclectic temporary community space in the city’s downtown area. The plaza has kid-friendly areas and interactive items for children’s play and merriment including table tennis, mini golf, bocce ball, and a basketball court. Participants will be taken past Fremont’s developing downtown area, which is growing into a pedestrian-friendly public realm with a mixture of street-level commercial, retail, civic uses and public open spaces. An Evening with Brian Copeland – May 21, 2019
Nearly 20 percent of adults live with some form of mental illness, and for many, it can be debilitating. Comedian and performer Brian Copeland knows this all too well. Years ago, Copeland purchased a gun with the intent to end his life, but during the mandatory waiting period, he changed his mind. Copeland now uses his experience with depression and suicide to create an open dialogue around mental illness.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, Tri-City Health Center, in partnership with Fremont Hospital, is proud to welcome Copeland to speak about his experiences at the Mental Health Symposium at Massimo’s Restaurant in Fremont on May 21. The program is being co-presented with Fremont Hospital and will begin at 5:00 p.m.
