Tri-City Health Center award recipient for treatment of prescription pain killer and heroin abuse

Fremont, CA, March 14, 2016 – Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced $94 million in funding to help combat the rising epidemic of opioid and heroin abuse across the country. Tri-City Health Center, was among the 271 national health centers receiving funding to lead the cause of substance abuse treatment in Alameda County.
These funds will benefit Tri-City Health Center’s commitment to the “whole-patient care approach” by integrating primary and behavioral health services. Tri-City Health Center will expand current services to provide enhanced screening, coordinate referral and education programs for substance abuse treatment, and expand the provider team.
